Freecycle - dont you just love it.

Thanks for the heads up on the freecycle sites, I did not realise that there were such groups about. I have now joined our local group here in East Sussex. Am now awaiting with baited breath for some useful freebies to turn up to aid me in my  projects for the garden.

HMMM don't make the mistake i made though when I joined our local site -- ticked the option that I wanted an email whenever anything new went on. Little did I realsie how busy I would be, with over 80 emails in an hour. Totally swamped through my own silly fault!!! Should have been more selective I guess!

I take it you went back and reset so that you just go to the site and look when you need something or need to get rid of something.  ::)

I'm on five local Feecycle sites and I still get the email alerts. To be honest, I find it easier to scroll through 40/50 emails at a time to see if anything useful has been listed, rather than visit each website to have a look (you also see stuff pretty much as soon as its listed) and then I can delete my emails en masse.

Either way, there are a hell of a lot of listings to look through.

I should add that my Yahoo account is exclusively for Freecycle, all my other mail goes to a Gmail account, which I guess makes things a lot easier!  :D

Fyi, you can change your user setting on the Freecycle group so that you only get a daily digest.  Much easier!!!

Picked up a lovely big wire mesh dustbin tonight. Not sure what I will use it for yet  ::) but will make a great composter or maybe a incinerator.

Just what i need for the forthcoming lottie

I am picking up a copper-bottomed jam pan this afternoon courtesy of freecycle.  Apparently it needs a good clean but I reckon I can manage that.
