Its nice to add the fresh tang of an onion leaf to your salad,its even nicer in winter.
To achive this just pick a good healthy onion from your store thats about 7" to 8"  round.Place it on top of a glass filled with water slightly smaller in radius than the onion so that it sits on top.Make sure that the bottom of the onion is just above the water.
Before long the roots will grow down into the water and it then will start to grow very tasty leaves that you can crop as required.
When the onion is finished producing remove and replace with another.
This will work all year round. :wink:

Also works with other allium bulbs, and how very yummy!

And don't forget to use the spent bulb in the stock pot.  Roots and all.
