Is it too late to sow sprouts, cauliflowers and callabrese in modules?

I planted my sprouts out last Sunday and they were not at all big so I am guessing that its still okay to sow from seed for a while yet.
99% Organic and 1% Slug Pellets.

Owing to illness, I only got around to sowing my sprouts yesterday, but they've got plenty of growing time left.

I sowed my sprouts/cauli/cabb/brocc a month ago and germination has been pathetic to say the least. I've just sowed a tray of each in the hope that some of them will show through.
I must get a couple of heated propagators for next year.

Don't use heated propagators for the cabbage family - they really won't like it.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

So what am I doing wrong to get the poor germination?
I used John Innes No1 seed compost, kept them moist without over wetting them, but got less than 20% germination?

Where did you sow them? Are they indoors or out?

They're in the coldframe.

That sounds OK, I just wondered whether they'd got too warm indoors or anything.

Hmm.  Perhaps someone else has some ideas?  I assume it was new(-ish) seed?
