Make it as secure as you can first time around so that you don't have to keep spending more cash to improve as you progress (although I'm sure that will still happen).

its like anything in life really u need to experiment to find out what works .

i see the chain link as being more solid an secure .i went to the rubbish dump the weekend and came home with loads of large flower tubs now why could it not have been loads of fencing ,lol

Have you tried putting a wanted ad on your local freecycle site - it is amazing what you can get - i answered and offered ad for a broody pen and got one (just need to do it up and give it a thorough clean before showing OH)

It claims to be 19g, which is the same as most welded mesh. Providing the joints are sound, it should do the same job. The only drawback is it will allow rats through, but over that area you'd spend a fortune to keep those out too !

the rats i dont really have a problem with { have to put up with them at the stables .lol} the pen and house will be kept very clean , is anything really secure when it comes to foxes though at the end of the day if they really want to get in anywhere then they will.

This place does weldmesh in various gauges and lengths.

I don't know if they're the cheapest but they seem reasonable. I would have thought, if you can manage 19g 1" squares round the lower 2 or 3 feet, then do the top half in a cheaper mesh, you should be fairly safe.

Another alternative is to section off a smaller part of the run as a high security bit for when you're not around and do the rest in a less secure mesh for when you can supervise.

Either way, you're doing a grand job and I hope you can get it how you want it.

hi rob, thats the stuff i have used around the bottom of the run ,and i am going for slighty stronger wire for the main fencing which hopfully has been ordered already . as soon as the main sectionn is up i will start posting pics.

hello there everyone , within 48 hours the first pics of my run wil be online .but i must say firstly please excuse the rubbish u see in them as i am trying to tidy up as i go and yes the main fencing should be here for the weekend but just what its meant to be very wet :twisted: all weekend :twisted:
