I got my heads up from Wyevale gardeners club this morning that seeds are now 50% off. You know what that means :D 50p seed sales are on the horizon :D :D :D
Get your lists ready people ;)
-
That's earlier than usual, isn't it
-
I think the cold start to the year, then the sudden heatwave, has meant a very short sharp season for garden centres.
They are probably trying to kick start the sales earlier to get people back in. My mailing says 50% off sale - I just homed in on the seeds, can't think why ::) I was thinking it may be worth a visit in a few days to see if they are selling plants and other stuff off as well. I have picked up some good bargains in the past like net tunnels and cloches :)
-
My Wyevale is a 10min walk from Tescos ( which is on the bus route) so if we get a coolish day soon, I'll have a wander down to Wyevale and see what's what :D
If I buy stuff, I will of course blame you
-
Just spluttered sur keyboard - Wimbledon just announced that seeds are playing today ::)
What a lovely thought, bet there's fun in my seed box every night then
-
My money is on the Gladiator parsnips

Well naturally

Oh NOOOO!!!!!!!! Everyone - repeat after me.......................I don't need more seeds..........I don't need more seeds...............I don't need more...oh, go on then, perhaps just a few more.

The thing is... I really don't need more seeds, but I hope my fingers remember that when I go to the sales
-
Please see the thread " mistakes you make year after year.......😧😧😧😧😧😧

Let's face it there are much worse mistakes, than buying cheap seeds ::) :nowink:

I am determined to sit on my hands until the Seed Circle parcel arrives this year
-
I don't believe you Sunny...
I will be trotting off to Wyevale the minute the email comes through. :D New seeds are fun! Particularly now I have had success with onions. I *may* have bought some seeds at Hampton Court today with Angelavdavis.

Oh did you now, Surbie?

I noticed that Winkinsons were doing 50% off thier own seeds... I managed to walk past... but it was hard.
-
I still have a £5.00 reward voucher to use there 8) 8) 8)
-
I received the email and then went on holiday for a week. Oh well, I thought, go to Wyevale and have a look to see what was left. Imagine my surprise when it looked hardly touched! Got everything I wanted (not needed I don't need any more seeds) and then some. Sarah Raven multipacks are particularly good value with 6 individual packs inside for £3 now.

I walked by 50% off sale in dobbies on sunday because I was'nt sure if they will keep
till next year. Will they ???
-
Am still holding out for the 50p-er.....
-
I don't need more seeds, I have enough for this year, next year and possibly after that.
I am seed saving and seed swapping.
I don't need more seeds.

Yes, if kept cool and dry - except for parsnips and sweetcorn, which can be a problem after the first year.
Fill your boots

That is true Surbie and I normally do wait for that sale but I find that the more popular varieties of seeds are sold out.
It is a great feeling though when you get them :) :)
-
Ah, I thought I felt a disturbance in the force. The seedaholics are getting itchy fingers again and the main culprits are all here I think ;)

oh yes! Just trying to figure out what my seed boxes are crying out for...
(actually, Cadalot hasn't reported in yet....or Norfolkgrey and I know she has a seed habit too...mebbe they are developing iron will-power)
-
you can see the NOSES getting longer :D
-
Surbie, it's true, I can take photographic evidence!
Just not now tho, I am in bed :)
-
I was in the local garden centre today and did buy a couple of packs at half price. Just because they were particular varieties that I wanted, so sorted for swede and sweetcorn.
Also grabbed some fennel as there has been a recent thread on it and I'm going to have another go this year. My record on fennel is variable to say the least ::)
I'm holding out for the 50p stuff now, but I need to do a seed audit first. I'm determined not to over buy this year. Stop sniggering you lot, I am serious ;)
-
Ummmmmm Seeds :nowink: in a seed sale

I went out this morning in the hope I would get shoes and seeds (yes I know strange combo but nevermind, oh and my nearest Wyevale is a bit of a trek). After removing the 8 packs of golden beetroot, some broadbeans, poppies, microgreens and other things from out of the bottom of the pram put there by my eldest  I came away with.......................................................................................nothing! :( so I have been on realseeds and cheered myself up
Edit: and what do you mean, you know I have a habit. I like to think I have a healthy appreciation and respect for the diversification and preservation of plant matter. Ok, I am talking cobblers :tongue2:
-
Car is in the Garage for a couple of days otherwise a trip to Wyevale would be on the cards :nowink:
-
Poundstretcher has seeds for 19p

Yep cobblers!
Nice euphemism. I am nicking that. :D Looking forward to when I can go and get thoroughly cheery in the Wyevale sale!

Popped into Wilkinson's yesterday and they have lots of items for 25-50p. Items such as those small propagators, peat grow pots etc, might be worth it for someone. Not much there that I fancied to be honest. I think the seeds are buy packets 3 pay for 2.
-
Wilcox yesterday here at 50% off seeds, hence 2 packets of runners now awaiting adding to the seed stash, didn't see them fall in to my basket😎
I did got to Wyevale on Wednesday & come out without any seeds😇, not sure how that happened, could have been something to do with the 2 packets of x 3 gardening gloves & a kneelo kneeler with 20% off that made it home with me, whistles unconvincingly as she sneaks them past hubby.
