Jelly with Jam Maker
« on: September 23, 2009, 12:15 »
Hi, I have a jam maker and would like to make some hedgerow jelly. Unfortunately, I have lost the instructions. I would be grateful if I could have some guidance. How long should I cook the fruit for to extract the juice, having put the litre of water in the bottom of the pan? 1 litre seems alot of water! Thanks in advance.

Haven't got an exact answer as have not got a jam maker...but when making it in a pan you just cook till the fruit is tender and breaking up.

Jodie, I don't have any suggestions but would like to say that I am purely jealous that you have fruit in your hedgerows.  Here in East Anglia it has been extremely dry and all of our hedgerow fruit has dried up! :(
When I die I will slide in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand and chocolate in the other, screaming, "Whooo hooo!  What a ride!" as life is to be enjoyed to the fullest!
