Title: Dirty bum inc photo
Post by: Ema on December 01, 2019, 18:47
Hi All

I’d be grateful for any thoughts or advice you can give.

We’ve been away for 30 hours or so and left the girls loaded up with food and moved their pen to fresh grass before we went. We’ve come home and Scrags our smallest and scruffiest bird has a wet bum, the other 3 have perfect clean bums.

I’m not sure if she’s over done it on grass or if it’s more serious. They had all gone to bed when we arrived home but she seemed bright enough and walked and looked at me when I checked on her.

I have only wormed them with ACV so can go to the farm feed store tomorrow and get some worming tablets.

I have probiotics for dogs so I can give her some of this.

Any other thoughts would be appreciated thank you

That could be too much grass, or possibly a soft shell egg.  If she is Ok otherwise, I would just clean her up and see how she goes.

If it persists it is likely to be something that needs a vet visit for anti-bios.  It could be an abscess that has burst.

Thanks for your replies she seems nearly dry this evening so will give her a bum wash and blow dry tomorrow morning and monitor her.
