Drive chains shouldn't be a problem, likewise bearings, bottom blade screws and even transfers should be available.
If the engine is Villiers, you may very well still get some parts from "Meetens". you might be able to source a new bottom blade from a specialist machinery dealer, someone may still have new "old stock".
Good luck with it.
The model type is usually on the side of the machine, sometimes stamped onto a small aluminum plat that is riveted on.

Thank-you for your quick reply, i have been on the phone to meetens and have ordered the parts i need to fix the carb (they were great). i have also located a place that is very good for old machines based in Southport called Stanley's - it is also home to a lawnmower museum and have parts for almost everything!!

Marvellous machine!

I do hope you can get it going, it really is an iconic mower, and much prized as well!

I'm hoping that the one I gave to all the old boys on the plots (back then, when I was a much younger old boy...), is still in the hedge somewhere, because if it is, I'm going to get it started...

...one day...

The mower has a Viliiers all alloy lightweight 75cc engine .  Mine is a 1962 model and it runs sweet as a nut . I managed to get a as new grass box for it last year.

Motivator,
Please, what is the model name/number of your smaller mower? I'm sure I have a similar mower in my garage? Given to me by my late father years ago. I know there is no grass box. The cut is 14ins. Any help/information would be much appreciated. Thanks, Glosterboy.

Thanks Motivator. I've attached a couple or so pics. I've checked for some form of ID plate. No success. But, stamped on the engine is the following BC107438. An ATCO Four Stroke transfer is on one side. There is also a "sign" in 4 languages warrning of blades still rotating after engine is switched off. The blade is a 14ins cut. Any help/information much appreciated. Thanks.

What you have there is a Suffolk punch engine . When they merged with Atco . They ditched the Villiers engines . For more info go here and post they are very helpfull.
http://www.stationary-engine.net/forum/index.php. I  would say it is dated around. 1967 ish .

Thanks Motivator.
So a Suffolk Punch engine it is. Therefore, can I assume that the mower is a Suffolk Punch? Sorry if this seems an obviously conclusion? But, having no operating handbook or manual I want to make sure I'm searching for one appropriate to my mower. i still can't figure how to switch on/off? There is no obvious metal strip to short-out to stop the engine? Spark-plug is covered with a Bakelite covering. No spark at the moment. Is there an on/off switch? Thanks again.
