Did our lawn yesterday, and have just cleaned the mower, while it is still slightly damp, and folded it away for the winter.

Doing this just now ensures that I'll have to do the whole lot again in a couple of weeks...

is this covid thing ever going to go away I ask myself and I am of the opinion that unless it can be determined  how it started we will never never find a cure

questions need to be asked to those where it all started  forget about upsetting anyone  because  questions need to be asked and if its proven to be human error then those people and countries need to be brought to account

it is very frightening to think this pandemic can wipe out so many people in such a short period of time all over the world  and at the same time stretching  our NHS in this country to breaking point effecting us all both fisically and mentally

Ha ha ha, SubP!

You're closer than you think, as when we had the allotment, just down a couple of roads, I was thinking of making up some wheels to go on the Mantis tiller, so I could 'drive' down there...

Mantis don't have drive wheels, just drive attachments, so they'd have to be wooden and somehow attached to a set of tines!

Don't really need them now, as we only garden at home!

Thank you for the advice. ;)  Living on the Norfolk coast gives me a rather 'unique' climate that runs by its own little rules.   ::)  I'm re-covering the plants right now with more composted hay.  I am going to give these plants all the protection I can this winter.  I'm not delusional and don't expect much results, but it's the fun of it, isn't it?  I've had roses blooming on Christmas Day.  I probably have a sign on my back saying 'sucker'.

The fireworks are for celebrating Bonfire night, when Guy Fawks tried to blow up Parliament.
Remember, remember! The fifth of November,
The Gunpowder treason and plot;
I know of no reason Why the Gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!
I wonder if some bright spark will try again this year, with all the unrest that's brewing right now?

The problem we have is that as soon as they're in the stores, kids start letting them of in the street at anytime they feel like it.

Chicken drumsticks are in the slowcooker all on their lonesome as I still can't figure out what I was going to do with them  :nowink: At this rate I'll be picking out the bones and making a stew with them. For once I don't feel like something spicy.

Traditionally it's November the 5th celebration. when I was in short trousers the fireworks were confined commercially to the weekends before and after the 5th November and domestically on the night.  Nowadays people use any excuse to let them off, They're let off from late September until early March for whatever holiday/celebration is nearest.  :(

This years appear to have started. Later than normal though so at least that's something to be thankful for.  I much preferred last year without any.

I was looking up UK holidays and didn't see one in October?  What's the occasion for the fireworks?  Just curious, it is likely something we don't celebrate here.

Or is it a Halloween thing, and just early?  In many parts of the USA, October is our driest month, so due to the dry conditions, fireworks would be a fire risk.  We celebrate Halloween, just differently.
