Title: Apple problem.
Post by: Goosegirl on August 26, 2022, 11:51
We got an apple tree last year called Newton Wonder which we planted in a large tub. This year it had some blossom as did the old apple trees in our mini orchard which were pruned and thinned out as recommended. This summer my OH noted little spider webs on the Newton and I was told to spray them with Roseclear's combined fungicide and insect killer so I did. More spiders webs appeared so I was told to spray them again. Now we have some apples that have brownish/purple spots. On looking in the Hessayon and RHS book on pests and diseases it looks like either weevil or bitter pit but am not convinced at the moment, so what do you think it is due to?
