Hi Guys

Im thinking of growing some tatties for Christmas in the greenhouse (as someone said that would be better than outside)

I was wondering would them plastic flexible buckets be ok that you can use for water etc if there was holes drilled in bottom?

Probably,if they are the ones i think you mean.Depth is important to some extent as you will still need to cover the foliage as it grows.I am trying mine in the ground,and will make a polythene cloche to cover them when the frosts threatens.Good luck with yours.

Which variaties do you suggest. There were selling some suitable for winter growing at Tatton this weekend but I didnt make a note of them (or buy any  )

Carlingford gets a lot of mentions on the forum, I have Ulster Classic for my roasties and Red Duke of York for boiled.

i have maris peer and will be growing them in my trug, or rubber bucket as u might say
that way i can move them if the weather tuns nasty
