Hi All,
         ok i am sorry if this has been answered before, i planted some garlic last november and according to what i have read it states that when the leaves go yellow then it is ready?

is this right? does anybody else have any views or suggestions please

That sounds about right and it should happen from about June or July onward..;)

If the leaves are yellowing now, that probably means that they need a feed - try chicken pellets or FBB /Growmore.

Later in summer, as Argyllie says, when the foliage turns yellow and dies, they are mature.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

must remember dave garlic bulbs under ground so dont look for a bulb forming like an onion wait till all the top looks dried and staw colourd and thats the time it will be ripe. you can always scratch down to see how the bulbs are doing.

Dave - your profile does not show your location - but here in Sheffield there has been so much rain I am going to give my garlic some chicken pellets or growmore as I think some of the goodness must have been washed away from the soil.

hi guys
            i did feed them a while ago but i never thought with the amount of rain we have had it would wash away the goodness.

i will feed again tomorrow thanks guys
