Well for all of us that worry about soft shelled eggs here is the opposite end of the scale.  Not sure which of my hens laid it but I would have thought she would be walking like John Wayne.

Not one to give to the neighbours - may make a small child scream!

One of my first hens had a problem with soft shelled eggs but she recovered for a while and quite a few of them looked just like this. Still taste good though!

Old hens often have them like that which is why the big poultry farms dispose of their hens at 70 weeks old - it seems that they think we won't like them.
Staffies are softer than you think.

I think the hen that laid it is one of my Goldlines and she will be around 2 1/2 years old.  I will probably have a job cracking it the shell is really thick.

We should start a new thread on here for people to post pictures of the weird eggs they'e had, I know I've had a few strange ones over the years. One of my hens sometimes lays an egg which is long and thin, it looks like a torpedo.

There is this one http://chat.allotment-garden.org/index.php?topic=80693.0

It is locked so you would have to say in your topic that you would like a moderator to add it to that topic.   ;)

Yes it only has a few, more people would have to ask for their photos to be added.  There have been loads of threads with weird shaped eggs on.

that thread isn't locked so you should be able to post on it. Would you likme me to move it into chicken chat and sticky it so it remains close to the top?

It doesn't have any reply button on it Joyfull.  I think chicken chat area would be a good idea, most members don't venture to where it is.   ;)
