Is there such. Virus that kills strawberry  plants two out of 20 look out of sorts wilting and that?

could be a number of things, grubs in the soil eating the roots especially if its sudden, or simply planted a little too deep and the crowns rotted, or as you suggest some-sort of virus.
Or if their newly transplanted possibly a little transplant shock ?

My own guess was it might be mildew, which is the most common, or possibly botrytis.

Ive had the same problem - going from flourishing plants to dead within a couple of weeks. Others around them are brill and growing well.

I lost a few plants, but then I transplanted about 300 plants, some may just have dried out too much in transit.
