Liquid feed from Comfrey leaves

I have made and used comfrey liquid feeds in the past with sucess --- I make it in a barrel with a lid on usually but it stinks - is it better to make without a lid so open to the air or closed by a lid?

Also this year I am feeding earlier but comfrey seems to be coming a bit later so cant take too many leaves as yet. I do have a lot of nettles though up in the orchard -- is a nettle and comfrey mix worth turning into liquid feed

Nice drop of rain recently - watch for the warm nights next and then watch the weeds grow ----- happy hoeing.

don't mix them, nettle is much stronger and needs diluting more.

what dilution do you recommend for each

?. mainly watering crops in open ground rather than pots

They say dilute until tea coloured - so it's guesswork really.
I've found it better to do the comfrey tea treatment just before I go home, not just before I eat my sandwiches.
