pickled walnuts
« on: May 29, 2010, 14:02 »
Hi All
I have been interested in gardening and pickling for a long time, I am always out in the Autumn getting what ever is free in the hedge row etc..
Has anyone got a well tested recipe for pickled walnuts and when do I know they are ready to be picked.  My neighbour has a walnut tree which has got out of control, this coming August we are having it cut back and there will be a lot of wasted walnuts if we do not pick them and get them pickled, neighbour thinks this is a good idea.  I just need a well tested recipe.
Thanks for the elderberry champagne recipe, everyone should try doing it.  It's very refreshing with tonic water and not that alcoholic.
