THIS IS COMPETITION NUMBER 8 - HAPPY HOLIDAY
TITLE: "HAPPY HOLIDAY"
PRIZE: £10.00 Voucher for Suttons Seeds
Voting is now open and will run until 2nd February.
The holiday season is on us so this competition will run until 25th January. Plenty of time for you to get snapping. It's anything you fancy really - sowing onions on Christmas Day, lazing on the beach (for members in the southern hemisphere) the cat helping take the Christmas tree down or even some snow if we're really lucky!!
Then we have New year - some photo from the office party perhaps (but keep it child friendly please!) Go on, let's have a bit of fun
_________________________________________________
The simple rules:
- You can enter one photograph into the competition which should be no more than 640 pixels wide.
- It can be anything you want that sums up the holiday season for you
- It should be accompanied by a short title and some description.
- The competition is open to all "Full Members".
- At the closing date we will add a poll for members to vote on and the most popular photo will be the winner.
- The winner will receive a prize as listed above and the winning photo may be placed in a permanent photo gallery along with the best runners up.
- Closing Date for Entries: Sunday 25th January 2009 when voting will be allowed by all members until Monday 2nd February

-
Love the tree Pep; it's absolutely beautiful. So is Millymollymandy's cold and frosty morning. What lovely landscapes! Just to warm you all up a little after the wonderful frosty scenes and in the interests of variety, may I enter the following titled
'It's freezing in the fields so let's have some festive fiery fare'
(http://
There's nothing like a good fire and then chestnuts on the hot embers to warm the cockles!!!
-
Thanks Happy Chick,
I think I'll have yours as a screen saver, it makes me feel so warm. Royalties are in the post of course
Pauline
-
Thanks Happy Chick,
I think I'll have yours as a screen saver, it makes me feel so warm. Royalties are in the post of course
Pauline
   that's ironic!!! OH has just requested your icicle tree phot as his new desktop!! He thinks it's the winnner by the way. He's got a thing for weeping willows. We inherited a small sapling in the garden and I told him that we had to find a new home for it as they grow just too big for even larger gardens. His response; the neighbour's guttering overhangs our fencing and discharges rainwater onto our land so you've guessed it, that's where he moved the willow to! It'll eventually get too big but hey, who am I to advise any man......
If you waive royalties for your icicle tree then you can have our chestnuts    I know who's got the better deal  as your pic is fab!!!
-
Wow, Happychick, that is so wierd
You've got yourself a deal, all royalties waived
Pauline

My Grandad came over every Saturday and took first me and then both my sister and myself for a walk to give my mum and dad some peace! (I only found a few years ago what they did  ) We always walked up to the local farm and we played with the animals, there were different ones there each week to look at. Just remember Grandad with his dew drop and the farmer leaning on the gate with their mug of tea and a pipe each. It was only when I was in my 20's I discovered we were going to the local abbatoir each week!

Some terrific photos this month! :) the competition is fierce.

No worries Aunty, in fact it was kind of welcomed as it raised a smile to my face. :)
-
So hard to choose :(
So many brilliant photos :D
-
You dropped me off the list! Grrr.
I wonder who has taken the early lead..
-
I voted previously and just came to look at the thread again however it is offering me the chance to vote again.
Has the voting been affected by the upgrades?
EDIT: ok, so it doesn't allow you to vote twice, but unlike the previous board it still show the option rather than just display the result like the old board used to!
-
Perhaps it doesn't display the results until the poll has finished Jenny
-
The pictures are not displaying too well
For some people
Thgey seem OK in Mozilla but not in Internet Explorer
-
My lil boy would like to thank who ever else voted for us :)
-
Don't forget to vote in the poll.
Only two days to go

Only one day left for voting
-
Yer looks like the icicle tree going to win unless i can pull 7 votes today............ :)
-
I'm hoping for a late run. ::)
At least it proves I don't vote for myself. Maybe that's where I'm going wrong. If I don't think mine's the best, who else will ????? :D
Well done to Pep, hopefully not prematurely. :)

Thanks Rob but I'm not counting my chickens and all that. I haven't used my vote yet - I can't decide between three.

I wish I could have Sharkeys printed on canvas, for a picture in my house, I would never tire of looking at it, there's so much to see in it.
'Tis lovely it really is ................
Sharkey... cha cha cha

You can if Sharkey lets you, kodak online and a few others do a print to canvas jobbie ;)

Methinks Pep has won handily here, congratulations in advance for an excellent photograph.
However sharky i must say your photo is indeed beautiful can i also get a high-res copy please?
-
A really big thank you to all 10 members who voted for me.
I thought that the competition would run until midnight of the 2nd Feb (thought voting today was a bit slow ::) ::) :)) but realise now that the "submit vote" button has gone.
There were some really beautiful photo's entered, professional even.
Looking forward to the next competition :) :)

Congrats Pep. Well deserved. :)
-
Yes well done Pep, enjoy the seeds :)
-
Congratulations again Pep - it is a great photograph.
-
Big congrats Pep! :D
-
Well done Pep, my personal favourite. Hope Customs don't confiscate your prize as an illegal entry!
-
Thank you for your congratulations.
Like I said before, there were some lovely photo's entered and, to be honest, I didn't think I stood a chance due to the lack of colour. I'll post one of what it looks like now the ice and snow has gone for you to see what a boring thing it usually is.
The most amusing entry was the spade and fork (that's a guess as it was so cleverly disguised in Christmas paper :D).
The official results haven't appeared yet as in previous competitions so what I should do now to claim the prize, I've no idea. I just hope I'm allowed to have it sent to a member of my family in UK whilst I look through the catalogue from here on line. The post to Bulgaria leaves an awful lot to be desired. I have checked posting regulations and I can't see any problem with seeds being sent here - it's just that they see an English name and think there may be a pound or two enclosed. The silliest part is that they will have to be declared as "used" so they come to our home address as opposed to a post office about 30 kms away :D :D.
Thanks again,
Pauline
