We have five welsummers - all girls. This morning my OH said the he saw one of the hens on top of one of the others as if they were mating - he described it as 'just like our ducks'. He said it was not a fight and was really puzzled by the behaviour and wondered if this was common.

That was decided a while ago and with a lot more rough and tumble.    Could be that one of the hens has decided that she show now be top hen - will keep an eye and see what happens.
