glad i,m not the only one having problems.still debating if i should try one. will do a batch with the white wine vinegar, bought bottle today.will then put in soy sauce as others have done.and keep fingers crossed.

I had over 50 heads of garlic last year - don't ask - so I froze them. Peeled them first then just threw 'em in a ziplock freezer bag. Easy enough to remove just one or two and they defrost in no time to chop. I like the idea of pureeing it first though, PP, must try that one.

Catlar, did you get any garlicky smell in the freezer?

I find doing onions really stinks up the whole freezer, regardless of how many bags I use per batch.

No, can't say I noticed any, but I guess by the time I'd peeled all that  garlic my nasal tubes were numb!. Joking apart, no, and I keep it in the freezer that's in the kitchen,  not the big one in the garage so I think I'd have noticed  a pong eventually!

Now onions that's another matter - I have had pong problems with them - perhaps because once they are cut the little smelly particles are released, and can get out of the strongest bag. I've even noticed pong with commercial bags of frozen onions, so I don't do that any more.
