Brassicas
« on: May 03, 2013, 18:27 »
Hi all I had some plug plant brassicas delivered few weeks ago, my bed isn't ready so I potted them up but I do not think I have planted them deep enough, they seem all bent over, should I repot into larger pots and deeper any advise please?

A photo would help. My sprouts are leaning a bit as the wind has knocked them about. You could plant them deeper when you put them in their final place.

Brassicas often over stretch themselves in pots etc before planting out. As above, this can be corrected when planting out firmly. It doesn't feel right somehow tramping down all that hard dug Autumn soil, but it is considered a great help against the wind rocking the roots.
