purple sprouts
« on: August 09, 2010, 12:44 »
I bought some purple sprout plants called the tozer collection from Victoriana nurseries on the internet, now they are wel advanced one of them looks like a cabbage. It has a large head in the middle exactly the same colour as the sprout plants. Could this be a cabbage plant sent in error.
Hurray finally retired
two plots now 31A and 35A

Brussel sprouts do produce a central heart which can be eaten like a cabbage after the sprouts are harvested, if the caterpillars don't beat you to it. :tongue2:  The sprout tops on my purple sprouts look fantastic at the moment and all the srouts have started to appear on the stems.  Shame about my green sprouts which look like they've all blown.
