Our Lottie society is asking people to start thinking about their spud orders for 2011.
We have to order in kilos and I have just moved to a full plot with 30 foot rows.
How many kilos would I need to plant one full 30 foot row.
As a guide I plant with 18 inches between each spud so thats 20 spuds per row.
Thanks FB

You might get away with 1 kilo but you would be right on the limit and would need to hope your seed spuds were at the smaller end of the average!
I would buy 2 kilos; you can plant them closer than 18" especially if they are early or second-early types.

My planting guide is:
1st Earlies - 12"
2nd Earlies - 15"
Maincrop - 18"
So, as JayG suggests, you could do with 2kg, unless it's maincrop. Don't squeeze those in, unless you're happy with smaller spuds.
