chickens eating rhubarb leaves

My chickens have  been let out into my entire garden for the next few months. I was shocked to see that the first leaves they have eaten are my rhubarb, every single one of them, just the stalks left.
This happened about three weeks ago. I can't see any problems with them, apart from them not laying at the moment. I know rhubarb is poisioness to humans, is it also for chickens?

Hi mooky - lots of people say it is but lots say it isn't. Mine demolished our rhubarb in about a week  and had no ill effects - some say it is a natural wormer - I just hope it grows back or my MIL will be very upset!

I agree with blulagoo but my hens seem to love rhubarb leaves.  One in particular will ignore everything else to have a peck at the rhubarb.  :roll: I havent noticed any bad effects as of yet so don't mind them having a little bit but wouldn't give them just rhubarb leaves and no other greenstuff.
