4' x 6' green house owners a question
« on: October 20, 2012, 18:17 »
I am in the process of getting rid of my shed so that I can put a green house in its place,the shed is 6' x 8' and think I will probably get a 4' x 6'  green house so I will have a bit of  room for a cold frame outside do you survive with this amount of space to grow seedlings and then some tomatoes etc during the summer ?  :)
some people are like slinkys......they're really good for nothing, but they still bring a smile to your face as you push them down the stairs!!

I would go for a greenhouse 6' X 8' and forget about the coldframe.

Far more useful area.

Cheers,   ::) Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

I replaced the roof on my 6x8 shed with twin wall polycarb whatsit and find that it is better than my 4x6 greenhouse. Got two sheets delivered all cut to size, they where very easy to screw onto the wooden struts.

You always wish you had a bigger one than the one you've got - greenhouse of course ;)

I've got a 4x6 lean-to greenhouse (it was called a conservatory when we bought the house :))
And it is never big enough during the growing season.  I've gone upwards with a mini greenhouse inside and shelves wherever I can fit them.  I find I only have room for three tomatoes and two or three peppers, still leaving space for baby plants and seed trays.
If I try to cram more in the air circulation is affected.
I've been tripping over sweet potatoes this year too.
The photo might give an idea of what you can fit in.  with mine being a lean-to I've only got the use of one side.
