Tomatoes dont need sunlight , water regulerly, good air circulation and feed when fruit is set are best conditions. If you dont shade then the temp in the GH can get too hot and the plants will suffer .
Its also a good idea to damp down the GH during hot weather by watering the floor area , this also helps with fertilisation ,a little humidity in the air makes the pollen sticky giving better fertilisation and thus more toms.

old geezer next door lines his with bubble wrap permanently, just the bottom half. he has excellent toms and bean production every year.

I like the idea of only doing the bottom half. Might give it a go

I made a couple of small ponds from old header tanks, used bubblewrap to insulate them and put drystone brick wall around the lot. Got fish in one and a couple of axolotl in other and they never freeze solid. I have a water lily growing happily with the axolotl, too.

i thought of doing this but realized slugs could hide in it also i like to give mine a good clean with jeyes fluid to keep disease down how can you do this if the bubbles are left up :?
