My poly tunnel is from First Tunnels, have a look & see what they can supply, there’s info on how much to order etc I believe. It was very thick & uv stabilised

Might also be worth looking at this

https://elixirgardensupplies.co.uk/product/greenhouse-polythene-polytunnel-cover-clear-film-sheeting-7-3m-9-2m-11-1m-14m/

I've not bought this myself but have been happy with all the purchases made to date from this company.

When I went looking one of the cheapest places for 500g/125u and 1000g/250u sheets in large sizes were these people on Amazon.

Eg.

4m x 9m 500g/125u for £21

4m x 25m 1000g/250u for £70

500g/125u means 500 gauge which is 125 microns or 0.125mm.
1000g/250u means 1000 gauge which is 250 microns or 0.25mm.

First tunnels supply 800g/0.2mm.
Elixir Gardens supply 780g / 0.195mm

It's not just the thickness that matters but also the quality of the plastic. Personally I'd pay the extra and go with First or Northern tunnels as they're used commercially across the UK. You get what you pay for.

And how do you assess the quality of the plastic?

Well if you’re just using any old polythene that you might buy it might not be of a grade suitable for covering a poly tunnel, which is why I suggested buying from a reputable poly tunnel supplier, you pays your money you takes the chance. But I personally would go with the best I can afford which is why when I invested in my poly tunnel I paid a bit more & had it from First Tunnels & 3 years down the line I’m very happy with it. It is of course up to the individual to do their own research & on here we can only advise from experience I suppose

Okay; but do you have any reason to think that QVS: "an established family run online retailer" isn't a reputable supplier?

No I haven’t Browseruk & haven’t the time or the inclination to research them. Maybe I should have advised in my first response to buy a poly tunnel cover from a company that supplies poly tunnels and then you have some comeback if you have issues with it, does that sound more reasonable?
