while digging on our plot i unearthed a sledgehammer head,which after good going over we a wire brush is ok,but how difficult is it to get a shaft for it numerous builders merchants on the wirral have none, of the big chain diy centres they got none although been waiting for a call back from the gentleman at b+q who went 2hrs ago to have a look if they had any in store!!!! :wacko:

Have you tried a garden centre?
You can buy shafts of all kinds in the tool section of a garden centre here in France (unfortunately I have no experience in the UK)

I'll third agri. supplier - I work for one - for the shaft and wedges.

Loads of fleabay if you're not near a supplier and not too bad prices either.

managed get one of ebay £4 cheaper than some prices i managed to find em at,ty for all suggestions
