Is this from manure contamination?
« on: June 26, 2021, 18:51 »
The Broad and now some of the French beans on my friend's plot have curled up leaves, see photo. Is this likely to be caused by manure contaminated with that weedkiller? She has to my knowledge only used manure purchased in bags from an online source, I don't know which one but the bags (not the merchant necessarily) are this variety http://www.thecompostcentre.co.uk/smallbags.html

Looks possible, it can be present in bagged manures & composts!

What else has she grown in that manure?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Nothing. It was bought bagged manure that was spread before planting the beans.

The potatoes in the photo seem fine and then are usually affected by weedkiller contamination.

That's what I was thinking too, Nobbie - there's a group of plant families that are all affected by the same weedkiller, including tomatoes and spuds as well as the beans.  If the manure has been applied to the spuds too, and they are unaffected, I suspect the manure is not the cause.
