posting in poultry chat
« on: April 20, 2012, 09:40 »
I have just tried to update one of my post, the words went well when it came to uploading photos  I was told error message, file too large, so I resized the photos , and re submitted, it then told me that I had already posted the subject, possibly without my photos attached.
I now cant find what I have just posted. I find it very frustrating. Please help
Rastus and his Hens was the original on page 7, I tried to add instead of starting a new one

According to your profile, this is the only post you've made since April 7th.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I find when I do this with a too large photo I have to change the title for it to post once I have made my picture smaller  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.

Thanks for the replies to . Posting on poultry.
You wont believe how annoyed I am at the fact of loosing a posting about,Rastus & his hens.  I had typed quite an essay about how the chicks had arrived & were growing up.  I am really pixxed about it. I wont bother any more,  I tried to find information on how big the Photos should be, but came up with not a lot.
Goodbye for now.

As you have previously posted photographs of your birds we would assume that you already knew the size of accepted photographs.
Also as I pointed out after you had reduced the size when you do come to post just change the title and you would be able to post.
If you also look at this it tells you exactly how to post photos and what sizes are acceptable.

Thanks for the suggestion Evie I think I now have the problem sorted out.
When the first of the Chicks arrived, nearly two weeks ago this Saturday, I was over the moon, as this is my first experience, of raising chickens, what a ball of fluff, since that time, I now have six chicks, who are doing well under the guidance of mum, I notice the changes in them every day, how the fluff is gradually disappearing, and their wing feathers are growing.
They are gradually getting used to being handled, but would prefer being with mum.
the hens are brown with black speckles, the chicks have a range of colours from light to quite dark, they are all individual in that respect. Nearly two weeks after the first chick hatched, I removed the remaining 4 eggs, upon further inspection,  they were all viable with chicks forming inside, after further deliberation, I realised that ten eggs to sit on for a Bantam was four too many, and that they had got chilled, thus ending their growth, Lesson learned.
I am very please that I have had a sixty percent hatching, there may some chicks needing a home,in a few weeks, these will be the male birds, as I don't want two Cockerels, waking up the neighbours.
regards for now

I hope you enjoy

Like you it is my first experience hatching this year.  I can't believe how quickly they get their feathers.  They don't stay fluffy for very long.  They are so gorgeous though, thanks for sharing the photos.  :D

Posting the photos was my pleasure.
I have also noticed that their tail feathers are sprouting, I love watching them preen themselves, also testing their wings, stretching them, just like mum.
I am very absorbed by all this. Magic

Thanks to all of you, who have viewed the photos. and for your comments
I can happily sit in the garage watching them, bathe in the sunshine, nesting on the wood chips, I have a poly carbonate roof, which the sun shines through. I will post a few more as they grow up.
