Well, they were all dead
« on: May 05, 2008, 19:05 »
I had spoken to a friend who suggested that i open up the eggs as there was little or no chance of them hatching at gone 23 days. Most were fertile but there were just embryos in the eggs - nothing that looked like a chick - blobs of something or other the size of a 10p piece. I really dont know what went wrong - does anyone have any suggestions??
 :(
If you do things well, do them better. Be daring, be first, be different, be just.

were they under a bird or in an incubator?
All these moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

what temps and humidity were you running at?

how oftem were you turning and which way?

fautly genetics could also be the cause.

so sorry must be gutting.
ive never used an incubator much prefer broodys, but i have had a rotten egg in with the  growing ones. A chicken chap local to me said once they stop growing in the egg they give off gas which can kill of the rest of the eggs. dont know how true that is. good luck with  your next batch.
