It's taken forever, but well worth the wait......
After harvesting loads of green bell peppers over quite a few weeks, today I picked the first (hopefully of many more) completely red bell pepper from the greenhouse. There are more on the plants so I hope that I shall be picking more very soon. :D :D
Anyone else had to wait this long for the first red pepper??

You wouldn't have had to wait as long if you had let some of the earlier green ones ripen  It's a balancing act between picking lots of green ones, which keeps them coming, to a certain extent, and leaving some to ripen.
I usually start picking reds in mid August, but don't pick many green ;)

I'm still waiting. Have had a couple but their bottoms have gone rotten. :(

None of my bell pepper plants lived, but I do have chillies and corno de toro, of which I am just picking the red ones.
I even sowed them earlier too! :(

I didn't know that :(
I shall have to be more patient next year and not pick so many green ones and wait for the rest to go rd.
Thanks Mum.

I've harvested about 6 or 7 from 3 different plants :D. Some of my plants didn't make it and some I gave away! The first ones suffered blossom end rot but the latter ones have been ok... I didn't think to pick some green to promote more to grow... oh well :)
