redcurrants

just come back from the lotty and noticed that all but one of my red currant plants that I put in at the beginning of the year have got yellow leaves.

It is almost like autumn has  come early.

I felt them and they feel almost crispy.

I did put some sulphate of ammonia around them a few weeks back could that be the problem?

Anyway I don't like it as we were hoping to get a decent crop out of them next year and the way they are looking it does not look likely.

I have searched the net and images and cant seem to find anything like it.
Can someone help please.

yeah will do tomorrow I usually take the camera with me but this time I forgot it 

Have you been watering them?

Haven't watered a great deal they are mulched but will do from today.

They are young yet and may not have developed a good root system before this dry weather.
Watering (not just a sprinkle....you need to soak) won't hurt at all and your soil may be lacking nitrogen (which greens up leaves)
