Title: Where to get free wood chippings??
Post by: infowarrior on May 11, 2011, 06:30
Does anyone know a good place to get free wood chippings??  Need quite alot. Sometimes see piles of them on side of road but wondered if there's any places that I've never heard of where they're available?

               Cheers.

Do you have a local sawmill you could contact? They might have surplus.

:)

You could ring your local council, they often use those big machined when cutting trees back and stuff.

Do you know of any tree surgeons in the area?

we have got good links with a local tree surgeon and have taken 3 transit loads (about 3 cubic metres each) in the past couple of months

Tree surgeon's around here are always after somewhere to unload wood chips you will be better asking for wood chips rather than conifer chippings tho.
