Just easing back into it gently then NS ?

I am trying to clear the freezer out so I can defrost it and all the winter menu stuff is in my sights.  I unearthed a pork joint today.  Well it says it is pork.  Could be woolly mammoth with the amount of ice on it  ::)

I’m cooking that later with some plot braised red cabbage and roasted beetroots I also discovered.  Leftovers are destined for a couple of tubs of curry base which I know are lurking in there as well.

mmmm piggy with cabbage.  Chicken thighs in the slow cooker here. They're very variable, last time they were really good, but it's back to mainly skin and bone on these :(  It's remove the skin and shred the meat off them, I might curry some as I've found a jar of pataks rogan josh best before 11/18 which I should really use up.

and some 'treats' for later, thankyou  to my  Godmother who worked for Marks until she retired from the age of 16.  She ran the children's section  at  Basingstoke.

Turns out it was jalfrezi not rogan josh. Either way it was fine just not very good. No heat and no flavour, tomato ketchup with mild chilli power would be a good description.  My curry munchies are not satisfied.

Rest of the chicken tonight, with mushrooms in a peppercorn sauces I think and spuds, probably mashed.

Roast lamb, spuds & parsnips, steamed sprouts, carrots & peas. Gravy without a doubt & maybe Yorkshire puds as I’ve got quite a few eggs. Might roast some of the tromboncino squash that needs using up to, not had it roasted.

5 year old spices marinated in sauce, hmmmmm ketchup with a bit of chilli would be about it I guess

I hate to inflame more curry munchies, but we are having the leftover pork in a pumpkin and dhal curry base with some frozen spinach chucked in for good measure  :)

Roast lamb, potatoes and parsnips.  Green beans and carrots to go with.  Yorkshire puddings and gravy.
