Hi Wayne, I started making wine this year and found these people very helpful and they stock some good starter kits. I don't know if they are cheaper than others but I only wanted a few small bits and pieces as I was lucky to be gifted some demi-johns.

The reward of a thing well done is to have done it....

Don't use bread yeast, simply it isn't wine yeast. It works differently, you want bread to rise in a couple of hours, wine ferments for a couple of months. Also I guess that you would like some alcohol in the wine and don't want it smelling of bread, probably prefer it clear as well.

Bread yeast is for bread.
Wine yeast is for wine.

Have a look at the following site:
http://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/

They have cider recipes on it.
Do you means cider or apple wine?

Hi,

It's been a while since I made turbo cider but your recipe sounds ok, as an addition I would add a teaspoon of citric acid or the juice of 1 lemon and some yeast nutrient if you can get your hands on it, it all helps the yeast to start a healthy ferment.
Going from memory here I used 1 or 2 teaspoons of sugar per litre bottle for priming and it turned out well fizzy so think you might be over-doing it with 1/2 tsp per 100ml.  I used 1 litre plastic lemonade bottles so plastic cola bottles will be fine.
To be honest it turned out ok but I'm more of a wine drinker so I didn't bother making it again although it went down a storm with my nephews and their mates. :D

yes, to reiterate the above , put about 1/2 to 1 teaspoon per bottle or it could all get realy messy (when the bottles explode or froth everywhere when you open them
