Aldi Bargains
« on: February 26, 2013, 13:42 »
Went into my local branch today (Alfreton) and overnight they have cut they're prices from 1.99 to 99p for their onion sets (sturton and stutgarter), red sun shallots, strawberry plants (8 of) and three varieties, asparagus crowns and garlic sets. Picked up a couple of the strawberry sets. Planted and all good
All the way from my allotment in beautiful Derbyshire. I'm in year 3 of my allotment and wish I'd caught the bug years ago, things growing from strength to strength

Oh... I saw the strawberry plants just now as I poppd there in my lunch break, I coudn't see a price so I left them behind (and I didn't really know where I was going to put them).

I did get 15 plug geraniums for £1.99, not sure it's much cheaper than what B&Q will do them for later in the year - but I will enjoy watching them grow :)

Also from March 7 (next Thursday) they have more gardening offers incl 220L compost bin for £20 and a 210L later but with the necessary accessories for £25 (I think, not on the website yes and I've left the leaflet in the car).  Also a selection of plug bedding incl some pretty fuschias, 6 per pack and again I think £1.99 each but will stand corrected if wrong.

Hannah :)

Popped into Aldi yesterday and their fruit trees were reduced from £3.99  to £2.99. Too cheap to pass up so I`m now the happy owner of a five foot tall Cox`s Orange Pippin.

The problem now is where to plant it. ::)
I`m left handed, what`s your excuse?

How much are they out of interest and what capacity? Just curious as to how they compare to the ones we got from the "green" people.

Thanks. :) That's comparable, I'd say. Our daleks of the same size were £16.00 each a few years ago, from Greener Scotland or one of these organisations.
