Pea Tops

Been to a few 'la-di-da' restaurants recently and a recurring theme seems seems to be garnishing things with pea tops.

Just last week I noticed Waitrose are now selling bag-fulls in the salad section!

Decided to snip a few off my own plants tonight - knocks the hell out of the pre-bagged stuff!!!

Very tasty though - went down a treat.
Good beer, good BBQ and good friends.

Yep...Nigel Slater (I think) was going on about them in the Observer food section today

It's good to know they're edible anyway, at least if I don't get any peas we can still eat the leaves!  :D

oh  they're lovely.
I took the top 3-4" (shoots, stems & leaves) off the top of some well established flowering plants.

yum yum yum

mmm looking forward to it already! Is it just the tops you can eat or all leaves? Well I suppose if you can eat some you can eat all!

not sure - I took the top set of leaves off in a few of the snips I took and they were lovely.

Not tried the ones further down - I expect you can eat them buy maybe not as young, sweet and tender.
