had an idea after staying in a holiday cottage which had a quited cover on the mattress.

i found a thin duvet up in the attic which i put under the bottom sheet.  Bed now really cosy.

we have one of those fleecy (looks a bit like sheepskin) fitted sheets under our bottom sheet which we use in the middle of winter, the trouble is my oh doesn't feel the cold like me and complains he gets too hot so at the moment I am using 2 hot water bottles in bed

I have an underblanket and hot water bottle as well, joyfull

I have a fleece underblanket and bed socks, with the window open whereas Mr Sunny likes really high tog duvet.. HMMMM

We never have the heating on in our bedroom however cold it gets.

What we have started doing recently though is putting a duvet underneath us as well as on top, really warm and most folks have a spare duvet.

My eldest does this as well!  She loves to be warm bless her...shame she doesnt like to be happy eh!

I get way to hot with an under fleece so we compromised and got a King size bed and OH has a single heated blanket on his side which he has on all night in the winter, poor old chap is only 44, what will he be like when he gets to my age.

I took a risk and bought a memory foam mattress for my aching bones from a tv auction channel and found it to be extremely warm in the cold weather.  There are no hot or cold spots, just an even temperature.  Wouldn't go back to an ordinary matress now.

Bought the children an underbanket each, wasn't one available for mine, but hubby back tonight!!!

Thin (3.5 tog) duvet under the bottom sheet, mainly because I find the mattress too firm for my aging bones, and similar duvet on top which is just about adequate all through winter (me one very hot-blooded orangutan, although I wouldn't have even attempted that in my student days with no double glazing and C/H!)

The duvet I have all year round is 3.5 tog 

The fleecy underblanket must work then

We don't have central heating.  Rely on a couple of gas fires and a coal fire.  OH has an electric underblanket on his side but its  far too hot for me.  It can be snowing outside and I still have to have the window open and my feet hanging out of the bed.  OH thinks I would not be happy until I'm sleeping in an igloo and nooooo, I'm not at that certain age, just like to be cool at night.

I just think my internal heating is 2 or 3 degrees above the national average  -  maybe your's is too Ice

Most definately, can't even bear to have my arms under the duvet, they have to be out in the open and short sleeved.
