Can turkeys eat chicken food?

Can turkeys eat chicken food?

We have 2 young turkeys, I would like them to be able to freerange soon along with the hens-  the problem would be the turkey food though.  Is it ok for the turkeys to eat ´normal´ hen food?  The turkeys are supposed to be for the pot and not pets.

Ours are on turkey growers. I don't think the chook food has enough protein in it for them to really thrive. I could be wrong though.....I am most of the time  :( :( ;)

I'm sure I remember Grannie Annie saying no to this as they must have proper turkey feed probably due to the speed that they grow.

Oh well, they won´t be free ranging then, they do have a run but it is small.  They have a nice house and a tree for shade and earth to play in. They just watch the hens a lot, maybe a little run out now and again :)
