Do they roam around the whole garden minus the flower bed?

Yes they do.  They love to eat the grass  :D   And they route around the flower pots and tubs for bugs and slugs

i dont think you can fight it wildone. wether you join this site for veggies or chooks. we all end up doing both in the end.

theres something in the water.

easiest to just give in and get the chooks.

i'll be getting back to the seed catalogue now

I'd absolutely LOVEan eglu but they're soooooooooooo expensive! So if i extend the run and put in a perch i'm good to go am i? and how long do they take to eat all the grass from their run? Hubby is worried they'll wreck the lawn!

In that "hutch to become a coop" I would not put a perch in but rather roosting bars a la omlet.

I'll just see if I can find a piccie of the intro coop we made,  back in a bit  :D

Here we go

*tick tock tick tock* Right so i'm thinking of something that will mean that their poo falls between the bars and they're not standing in it? is that the purpose of roosting bars?

Absolutly - and it's good for their feet to as they can curl their toes around them an night relieving the stress on their tendons. :D

Did you look at the omlet pages as it shows the detailed design including roosting bars ?
