Title: Bit worried about matilda
Post by: Louise on January 14, 2008, 11:43
Yesterday when we clipped her wing i noticed a bald patch on the back of her neck. It does not look sore. She is spending a lot of time in the coop whilst the other 2 chooks are in the garden. She does come out but not much. She was first out of the coop this morning and she has had something to  eat. Her poos are normal. Shes a bit smaller than the other 2.
Could she just be shy/settling in?

is there anything i can do to stop this?
There is only 1 perch in the coop now, but we are going to make an external nest box and put another perch in this week. Perhaps this will help. :?

I am sure Aunty will tell you purple horsey spray to put them off, I use tea tree cream personally but either should help. At least another perch will give her somewhere else to go   :D

Tea tree has a really nasty taste and puts them off too  :!:
