I bought some of these in morrisons, can anyone tell me if they are a type of hungarian hot wax.  they are about 7 inches long, lime green, and quite hot.

I'm thinking of saving some seeds.

Cheers.

I don't think so, Sally, but very similar, I bought some a little while back. Thin flesh though, but sweet, so good multipurpose. And the heat is tolerable, to me, just nice to eat.

Cheers Gobs, might give them a go. I quite like the heat levels for popping a couple of slices in sandwiches.

Is that maybe the type they use in Greece (and Italy?) for pickled hot peppers?

I don't know, they don't google much, I only bought them out of curiosity, but I'm quite impressed.

Yes, but I can't get the picture up.  these were picked at lime green stage and are quite hot, also as they are 7" long, I can't imagine them growing in the upright position.

I just went on a Spanish - English translator and Caliente means Warm, so perhaps it's just a generic term.  there was no variety named on the label.

Also Tierra Caliante, part of Mexico, so would guess, any pepper coming from there could be dubbed as such.
