Grafted Tomatoes

In our local Wyevale they were selling grafted tomatoes and promising a 75% greater yield.

What's this all about then!?

When weeding, the best way to know if its a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull it.

If it comes out easy, it was a valuable plant !

I've got one grafted pepper plant that I'm giving a go, in the hope of a early crop while my seeded ones grow up. Can always just get some to try if you're unsure and judge for yourself.

I tried grafted toms last year with very good results, faster growing ,stronger plant with a very heavy crop, but at £4.50 each don't think the pros outweigh the cons.

Stupidly overpriced IMO. You only have a given amount of height in a greenhouse, and if you can get them to the roof and ripen the fruit with seed sown plants, the only benefit is Disease resistance, and I don't suffer from that.
If you want vigorous plants with lots of fruit, try some vigorous f1 seed, Shirley for example, grows and fruits so strongly that the trusses need tying up regularly to stop them breaking.
