foaming eye
« on: April 30, 2009, 21:00 »
My warren hen who I initially thought was egg bound due to her being puffed up and generally under the weather, has one eye shut and under the other the skin puffs in and out slightly when she breaths. I've read the threads on mycoplasma, which it seems to be. The supplier has said we can take her back and swap her (although that was when we thought she may be egg bound)I've seperated her from the others, but my question is, where do we stand with him? we bought 6 hens from him from the same flock. None have any health issues and are all coming in to lay. Will they all get it? Should they all go back, even if healthy. Then what about introducing new hens? Many thanks for your thoughts.

If it is mycop they might all get it :(  His other birds might also have it :(

If it's possible I'd take them back and find another breeder :(
