Hi

I have a 1yr old hen with a swollen body and watery/foaming eyes. She is starting to have trouble moving about as normal.  Her crop is empty. The vent is closed but swollen as well.  Feathers and comb all look OK.

Any ideas what to do?

Welcome to the forums

I'm unsure as what the problem with your hen could be but if possible could you answer these questions it will help the more experienced help you

Is she having any trouble breathing?
Has she got a tempreture? ( feel under a wing, then under a well hen's wing )
Has she been eating/drinking?
Has she laid recentley?
Does her skin feel puffy ie balloon like? (as if there is air under it)
Has she got any nasal discharge?
Has this come on all of a sudden or is it gradual?

As Vember says the answers to those questions would help.  

But to me she sounds very unwell and possibly has peritonits and also a mycoplasma respiratory infection.  A trip to the vets for antibiotics asap would be my advice. Or...

All - Thanks for the advice.  A friend with more experience has just confirmed perotonitis, so it looks like the end.  Will do the job tonight as she is looking worse.
