New to chookies . .
« on: November 16, 2009, 11:45 »
:) Hello - We are the proud "parents" of three gorgeous Burford Browns.  Lucinda Peckington and Matilda Eggworth are 18 weeks old, and a fortnight after their arrival, Dorothy Nomington arrived (she is 20 weeks)  They were all from the same place, but we discovered that introducing Dorothy later was a big mistake.  It has taken a couple more weeks and lots of distraction techniques to get her settled as she was a bit bullied at first.  The coup (no pun intended) was a massive handful of dry leaves on the run floor, into which were scattered a handful of thawed out frozen peas .. so it's true:  Peas on earth results in goodwill to all hens (

Anyway, thanks for all the information posted to date .. just reading through that has answered a plethora of questions .. but there are bound to be many more, us being so new to all this.. Thanks in advance to those of you who answer when we shout "heeeeeeeellllllppppppp"
