Rhubarb in tyres? Would this work?

Hello all, newbie here, and my question is whether a large (landy defender) tyre would be a suitable thing to plant some rhubarb in?  I have some raised beds made variously from scaffold boards and an old metal water tank cut in two, but fancied something different for the rhubarb.  I've spotted various posts about growing potatos in them but wondered if anyone had any rhubarb specific advice for me.

Tall and straight sounds fairly ideal, and watering shouldn't be an aggravation as they will be by my work-in-progress polytunnel (no poly at the moment but who cares in this weather?) so irrigation will be applied to that area anyways...
