Hi Garddwr
Sweet peas are easy to grow and the best time to sow them is the first week in october indoors in 4inch pots. when they are 3to4inches high repot singly into sweetpea pots which are deeper than ordinary pots. Keep them inside until about feb. then put them out to harden . In march you can put them into the ground as they will be quite tough by then. Put up some 8ft canes and plant one to each cane. Sweet peas are very hungry and need a lot of manure. When they start to grow up the canes keep tying them and taking out the side shoots, you only need the main runner. Take of the flowers every few days to keep the new ones coming. Dont let them dry out.
Hope this helps

I grew Dhalias this year. They are in the garden centres spring time to buy in packets. Some of the flowers grew to dinner plate size but you can get all different sizes.
I found them easy to grow and they are still flowering now.I have a vase of them on the kitchen table.
Everyone who came to the garden went home with a bunch and thought i was clever to grow them but they grew themselves.
