Good going Aidy, ours still have a way to go yet!

Had the 1st row of Sept planted garlic out yesterday, starting to split so pulled them; radishes and mangetout being picked too. The harvest has begun!

They've done well!! Lucky man. Mine are still thinking about it.

Sown in cells - transplanted and now growing on - way behind yours :(

If I could grow nothing else beetroot would be the choice. Do you ever oven roast the larger ones?

I always time my beets and they normally take about 13 weeks from first sowing in early March in the ground to picking in early June.
Do grow about eight at a time first week of each Month from March until September when I grow three rows of 12 to pick over the winter.
Tried so many varieties over the years but always go back to Boltardy for taste and reliability.

Yes and no, most of the bigger ones later in the year go into making Borscht soup.
