I don't grow super hot chillies. I do buy chilli seed from Simpson's Seeds though. They have a huge range, including some mega hot varieties. Their customer service is excellent.

Seeds from South Devon Chilli Farm have always been good both in terms of germination and quality of plants produced. They do a few extreme heat chillies (including Carolina Reaper) and also a collection of their 6 hottest.

South Devon Chilli farm for me. Reasonably good selection and very good seed. You generally get get 20 seeds in a pack.
It's worth a visit if you are ever down that way. We visited whilst we were on holiday.

Does the soil PH make a difference. I have used a mix of soil and compost with vermiculite for drainage. And feed weekly with seaweed feed.

I wouldn't have thought that pH would make a specific difference.

I’m also a South Devon Chilli farm fan, brought my sister their 10 pack gift set of seeds for Christmas as she likes spice and she’s loving them all varieties germinated. I’m growing their Serrano chillies this year, not sure I’ll be able to eat them as my pablanos are too hot for me.
